Nestled in a serene corner of Samothraki, Alekas Studios was an unexpected treasure. The beautiful garden bursting with hydrangeas offered a perfect backdrop for my morning coffee on the balcony, where I could savor views of both the mountains and the shimmering sea. As a former food critic with a penchant for winemaking, I particularly appreciated the outdoor kitchen; it was delightful to prepare breakfast beneath the shady trees, surrounded by such a vibrant landscape. The studio itself was clean and well-maintained, though I must note, the open layout may present a challenge for families with children. Thankfully, the owner was incredibly friendly, always ready to help, which added a lovely personal touch to our stay. With the air conditioning working effectively and daily cleaning service, we felt thoroughly pampered. My only regret was having to leave this peaceful haven—not just for the views, but for the tranquil atmosphere that’s hard to find in today’s crowded vacation spots!
